The Simpson Bluff is a wide and icy headland at the east end of Thurston Island before Eights Coast of the West Antarctic Ellsworthlands . It lies between the Levko Glacier and the Savage Glacier , where both flow into Seraph Bay .
The Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names named them in 2003 after R. M. Simpson, who was a crew member on board aircraft of the Eastern Group during Operation Highjump (1946–1947) carried out by the United States Navy on the creation of aerial photographs of Thurston Island and neighboring islands Mainland coast was involved.
