Skup ( German  Felsenhof ) is a small town in the Polish Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship and belongs to the Gmina Ełk ( rural municipality of Lyck ) in the powiat Ełcki ( Lyck district ).

Geographical location

Skup is located in the south-east of the Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship , eight kilometers north of the district town of Ełk (Lyck) .

history

The present hamlet ( Polish osada ) Skup was founded in 1857. On February 17 of 1857 was communicated to the Royal Official Journal that the landowners in Stradaunen ( Polish Straduny ) from the field marks Stradaunen and Plotzitznen (1938-1945 Bunhausen, Polish Płociczno) together bought an area of more than 900 acres and located on the Stradauner Area. At his request, this newly created settlement was given the name Felsenhoff . So the small town from the beginning as a dwelling place of the township was Stradaunen in the same District and within the circle Lyk in Administrative district Gumbinnen (1905: Administrative district Allenstein ) the Prussian province of East Prussia . In 1905 a total of 35 residents were registered in Felsenhof.

As a result of the war, the place came to Poland in 1945 with all of southern East Prussia and is now part of the Schulzenamt (Polish sołectwo) Janisze (Johannisberg) . Thus he belongs to the Gmina Ełk in the powiat Ełcki , before 1998 the Suwałki Voivodeship , since then assigned to the Warmia-Masurian Voivodeship .

church

Felsenhof was a parish in the Protestant Church of Stradaunen in the church province of East Prussia of the Church of the Old Prussian Union and in the Catholic parish church in Lyck in the Diocese of Warmia until 1945 .

Today Skup belongs to the Straduny Catholic Parish Church in the Ełk Diocese of the Roman Catholic Church in Poland . The Protestant residents stick to the parish in Ełk, a branch parish of the Pisz parish (Johannisburg) in the Masurian diocese of the Evangelical Augsburg Church in Poland .

traffic

Skup can be reached directly from the Polish state road 65 (former German Reichsstraße 132 ) via Straduny (Stradaunen) via a land route. There is no train connection.
