Armament

The Sims class was a class of destroyer , in the Second World War by the United States Navy was used. The class consisted of twelve ships that entered service in 1939 and 1940.

During the World War five of the ships were destroyed, four by the Japanese and one by the Germans. The remaining ships were decommissioned after the war.

DD-420 Buck April 6, 1938 May 22, 1939 May 15, 1940 - Was torpedoed by U 616 near Salerno on October 9, 1943. The torpedo hit the forecastle and detonated an ammunition chamber. It sank within four minutes, taking 150 men with it into the depths.
