Sin Reaper 3D is a German horror laser film by Sebastian Bartolitius .
action
The young American Samantha Walker has suffered from terrible nightmares since childhood, which she tries to process with drawings during her therapy sessions. When she finds out that the scene of her dreams, a German monastery fortress from the Middle Ages, actually exists, she travels to Europe to do further research on site.
But her research in the monastery, which is now a museum, as well as in the nearby small village, lead to no result. Although she recognizes numerous details from her dreams, the locals are suspicious of strangers and spread a cloak of silence about the past and a terrible incident that led to the abandonment of the monastery 13 years ago.
During a guided tour of the museum, Samantha meets the American backpacker Sascha Jones. Accompanied by Sascha, who has found more than just a liking for her, Samantha finally breaks into the monastery at night, hoping to find the clues that one tries to hide from her during the day.
But they are not the only ones sneaking around the ancient walls. Sascha's friends RJ, Richard, Melanie and Jenny found Samantha's psychotropic drugs and followed them, worried about their boyfriend. At the same time, a burglar is targeting a relic exhibited in the museum. They soon have to realize that someone is ready to walk over corpses in order to keep the dark secret of the monastery. To survive, Samantha must face the Sin Reaper and the truth of her own origins.
production
The co-production by Fairground Media, Urwerk Filmproduktion and GenenrationXGroup was realized in 2010 as a purely independent production without film funding.
For leading actress Helen Mutch and her colleagues Lance Henriksen, Hazuki Kato and Andrew James Porter, it was the first ever shooting in Germany. Sin Reaper was first released on DVD in Japan in November 2012. In spring 2013 the US release followed in the series "Fangoria Presents" on DVD, Bluray and VOD. Shortly thereafter, Sin Reaper was nominated as a potential candidate for the Fright Meter Awards. The film was released in Germany in October 2013 on DVD and 3D Bluray.
Locations
The main location for Sin Reaper was the Johanniterburg Kühndorf in Kühndorf (Thuringia), a monastery festival from the 13th century. In addition, individual scenes were shot in and around Stuttgart.
