Sinclair ('s) Island (rarely also Roast Beef Island ) is a small rocky island in the South Atlantic. The island is located in Baker Bay , 2,400 meters south of Plumpudding Island , 220 meters from the mainland of Namibia's Diamond Coast .
Sinclair Island is one of the Penguin Islands and is known as Guano Island because guano was mined here until 1949 . A station on the east side of the island still bears witness to this past. The island is part of the Meob-Chamais marine reserve , with intensive mining going on in the vicinity .
