Sindija Bukša (born December 14, 1997 in Valmiera ) is a Latvian sprinter .

Athletic career

Sindija Bukša gained his first international experience at the 2015 European Junior Championships in Eskilstuna, Sweden , where she reached the semi-finals over 100 and 200 meters. In 2016 she qualified over 200 meters for the Junior World Championships in Bydgoszcz and again reached the semifinals, in which she was eliminated with 23.99 seconds. In 2017 she qualified for the European Indoor Championships in Belgrade , where she retired in the first round with 7.50 seconds in the 60-meter run . At the U23 European Championships in Bydgoszcz, she finished sixth over 200 meters and reached the semi-finals over 100 meters. With its newly established best time over 200 meters at the European U23 Championships, she qualified for the world championships in London , where she's with 23.54 in advance eliminated.

The following year she took part in the European Championships in Berlin for the first time , where she reached the 200 meter semi-finals, in which she did not start. At the European Indoor Championships in Glasgow she came over 60 meters to the semifinals, in which she was eliminated with 7.42 s. She started over 100 meters at the European Games in Minsk and was ninth there in 11.62 s, before winning the gold medal over 200 meters in 23.24 s and in 100 meters at the U23 European Championships in Gävle - Run in 11.64 s finished seventh. She also qualified over a distance of 200 meters for the World Championships in Doha , where she was eliminated in the first round with 23.53 s .

In 2015, 2016 and 2019, Bukša became the Latvian champion in the 100-meter run and in 2016, 2017 and 2019 over 200 meters. In 2016, she also became champion with the 4 x 100 meter relay. In the hall, she secured the title over 60 meters between 2017 and 2020 and also won the 200 meters in 2017 and 2020.
