Location of Singenbach in Bavaria

Singenbach is a district of the Upper Bavarian municipality of Gerolsbach .

history

A first church foundation is mentioned at the time of Bishop Atto von Freising in 784. In the 11th century, the nobles of Munninpach expanded the property into a closed Hofmark . In 1422 the Hofmark passed to the Lords of Frauenberg-Taufkirchen, probably through an inheritance. The Catholic branch church Sankt Stephan dates from this time. Minnenbach was renamed Singenbach around 1580. The barons of Niedermayr then owned the Hofmark Singenbach in the 17th and 18th centuries. The Catholic parish church of the Assumption of Mary in Maria Zell dates from the 15th century, the tower was renewed in the 19th century. The municipality of Singenbach, founded in 1818 with the Bavarian municipal edict, with the suburbs Ankertshausen, Dallach, Duckenried, Eulenthal, Leithen, Oberbuch, Oberzell, Pitzlhof, Weilerau, Wolfertshausen and Zaderhof, was assigned to the Freiherr von Niedermair patrimonial court until 1848 and lost on January 1st 1978 became self-employed. It was incorporated into the Gerolsbach community.
