Sing the song of songs (songbook)
Singt das Lied der Lieder is the title of a songbook series that made up a significant part of the vocal material of the youth choir movement.
history
The first volume of the youth song book was published in 1983 by Klaus Heizmann and was published as a choir book and score by Hänssler-Verlag . Based on his conceptual idea, intended for immediate use in church music-making practice, a demo cassette box with 3 MCs appeared at the same time . In addition to the title song of the same name by Manfred Siebald , the songbook contained , above all, other New Spiritual Songs by songwriters such as Peter Strauch , Gerhard Schnitter , Jörg Swoboda , Hella Heizmann , Bertold Engel , Martin Mast , Ingemar Olsson and others. The follow-up volume appeared four years later in 1987 and was also edited by Heizmann. For the second volume he also released two corresponding demo cassettes with his studio choir Musischen Bildungszentrums St. Goar as well as the soloists Cae and Eddie Gauntt, newly discovered by him for the Christian music scene . In 1991 the third volume was published by Johannes Nitsch and Peter Sandwall ; a demo CD with playbacks was also released. The fourth and final volume appeared in 1996 and was edited by Gerhard Schnitter. Accompanying the fourth volume, two fully produced music albums were released in 1998 under the title Let The Praise Begin with titles from the songbook, interpreted by choirs such as Die Brückenbauer , ERF Studiochor , Kennzeichen C , Time To Sing , Christians At Work and Die Wasserträger .
