The Sinraptoridae are a group of carnivorous , theropod dinosaurs that are known exclusively from the lower and central parts of the Upper Jurassic ( Oxfordium and Kimmeridgian ). The Sinraptoridae include all taxa that are more closely related to Sinraptor dongi than to Allosaurus fragilis or Carcharodontosaurus saharicus . The Sinraptoridae are the most primitive Allosauroidea . They differ from their closest relatives, the Allosauridae, in some features of the skull anatomy .
There are only two genera, Sinraptor and Yangchuanosaurus , with two species each. The two genera only differ in their proportions, the skull of Yangchuanosaurus is shorter than that of Sinraptor . All fossils , except for the fragment of an upper jaw from England, whose affiliation is disputed, were found in China. It may be that eastern China was separated from Laurasia in the Upper Jurassic , which resulted in an endemic fauna .
