At 16 he sang for the first time with an opera orchestra in Port Elizabeth, whereupon he received a scholarship to train in the choir of the University of Cape Town . This was followed by scholarships for a Young Artists Program at the Queensland Performing Arts Center in Brisbane, Australia, and in 2004 for postgraduate studies at the Royal College of Music in London in the United Kingdom , which he completed in 2007.

Subsequently, Ntshebe appeared as a tenor in the United Kingdom, in other European countries and in South Africa. On the occasion of the Soccer World Cup in South Africa , he was supposed to perform his song Hope at the opening ceremony on June 11, 2010 in the Soccer City Stadium in Johannesburg . Nelson Mandela was also involved in the recording of the debut solo album of the same name with a spoken message. Ntshebe died of meningitis in his hometown shortly before completion .
