The Sit ( Russian Сить ) is a tributary of the Rybinsk Reservoir in the Russian oblasts of Tver and Yaroslavl .

The Sit originates in the Beschezki Verkh in Tver Oblast. It initially flows in an easterly direction into the Yaroslavl Oblast. Later it turns north and finally flows into the southwest bank of the Rybinsk Reservoir.

The sit has a length of 159 km. It drains an area of ​​1900 km². The river is mainly fed by the snowmelt . 19 km above the mouth, the mean discharge is 13.4 m³ / s. The river freezes between November and the first half of December and remains ice-covered until April.

Until the Rybinsk reservoir was built, the Sit was a right tributary of the Mologa .
