Six was a German rock band . It was founded in 1992 in Jüterbog in Brandenburg , and its debut album Six Appeal was released in 2001.
Band history
The band emerged from the country duo Scout of the two vocalists Stefan Krähe and Jochen Riemann.
style
Musically, the band could be classified in the area of rock with its own German-language lyrics. The performances were extended by performances of mostly internationally known English-language songs by other artists.
Her concerts began mainly in the Spreewald region and later throughout Brandenburg, Berlin and Saxony. After the releases of the first two albums and a few singles, their popularity increased. A special tradition was the six birthday concerts, which mostly took place together with befriended musicians. For her 12th birthday, Six organized a concert with the Kelly Family in Jüterbog . Angelo Kelly then toured half a year as a drummer with the band through the new federal states. For their 17th birthday in 2009, Six played together with the Leipzig Chamber Orchestra in Lübben .
The musicians received the first nationwide attention for the first single release of the third album Gefallene Engel (FAME Artist Recordings / Sony Distribution, released in June 2009). The song Geiler isses here is a hymn to stay for all people who had to leave their homeland for economic reasons. The song was also the stadium anthem of FC Energie Cottbus .
They also achieved greater awareness with the title Eiskalt , which serves as the run-in music for the Berlin polar bears . The song was presented live by Six on September 5, 2009 during a game of the Berlin polar bears in the Mercedes-Benz Arena (Berlin) .
On October 28, 2011 Six played their 2,222 concert in the Stadthalle in Cottbus and at the same time released their fourth studio album Scars and Souvenirs , this time on FAME Artist Recordings / Sony Distribution. The fifth studio album, Burned Children , was released on July 25, 2014 .
The band broke up on November 4, 2017 after the 25th band anniversary and one last concert. Since then, Robert Gläser has appeared under his real name and Stefan Krähe as "Krähe" separately and with their own songs. With Andreas Giersch (keyboard) and Jürgen Schötz (drums) two former Six musicians play in Stefan Krähes band.
