Själevads IK is a Swedish sports club from Själevad , a suburb of Örnsköldsvik . The club is best known for its women's soccer team, which played two seasons in Damallsvenskan .
history
Själevads IK was founded in May 1923, and in the following years ice hockey , bandy and soccer teams established themselves at the club . In addition, departments for orienteering and skiing were created .
While in football the men's team has not yet got beyond the local league area, the women's team has played nationwide. At the end of the 2003 season, she managed to rise to the top class for the first time. In the first division season 2004 she played against relegation, but was able to hold before Bälinge IF and Stattena IF on the last non- relegation place. In the following season, the club only got three wins this season. Therefore, he rose as the bottom of the table with 13 points in the second division. Here, too, the relegated player played in the lower division and missed relegation. In the following years, the team fought for promotion, which was narrowly missed several times.
In the 2012 season, the team will play in Div II Norra Norrland, the third highest division for women's football in Sweden.
