Ska-T was a German music group from the Harz , Berlin and Leipzig area . They called their style Ska , Punk and Ragga .

Band history

Ska-T (then still called Ska't) was founded in the summer of 1997 in Blankenburg (Harz) . The band made their first appearance in October of that year. The name of the band is not derived from the Spanish band Ska-P , which at that time was not yet very popular in Germany.

In 1998 singer Hagen (now known as Longfingah ) joined the band as an MC. In the following year the first maxi-CD "Nonsence" was released.

In 2000 the long-standing permanent line-up was formed, and there was a first foreign tour through the Netherlands. The first album "Elektrotechnique" was recorded and was released in January 2001. In the same year, the band played with the princes in front of the Leipzig Völkerschlachtdenkmal as the winner of the Courage Show - band contest.

In March 2002 they performed at the concert "Rock against right-wing violence" organized by Udo Lindenberg and were thus broadcast at the WDR Rockpalast . In the course of time, the band played in addition to gigs in Germany in many European countries.

In 2007, for the 10th anniversary, the band announced the split.

Others

Ska-T had different changing wind instruments. Today the members are partly active in other bands: Otto and Alex with Gran Erupto, Hagen in various (mainly Berlin) projects as Longfingah, Alex and Hagen with Illbilly Hitech, Otto with Bullgine. Under the name "OttNGeee", two of the former band members are now releasing cover versions of old Ska-T songs on the Internet.
