Show courage

Under the motto show courage (previously rock against right ), a concert took place between 1997 and 2011 every April 30th of the year in front of the Leipzig Völkerschlachtdenkmal . The Leipzig market square has been the venue for the event since 2012.

It originally took place to prevent supporters of right-wing extremist parties from marching on May 1st in this square. In the meantime, the event has become the largest regularly held rock concert in Leipzig. All participating artists appear free of charge, no entry is required.

In the run-up to the concert, the Young Musicians Against Violence and Racism Festival takes place, where young artists can demonstrate their skills. The best perform during the Show Courage Concert. In 2006, the first two best placed winners of the competition performed at the concert for the first time.

Among other things, artists and bands such as: Silly , Die Prinzen , Hannes Wader , Mutabor or Die Happy performed . Prince singer Sebastian Krumbiegel is also present every year as moderator and patron.
