The Skatoons are a ska-punk band from Hamburg that was founded in 1999.

The basic formation of the band consists of a singer, two guitarists, a bassist, four wind instruments, a drummer and a percussionist . Your texts are mostly German.

Band info

After the bands Pennerschickeria and ARD disbanded in 1999, the band The Skatoons formed from the remaining musicians .

At the beginning of 2000 the wind section was completed with trumpet (Holle) and trombone (Tobe). A first demo tape and a demo CD followed.
Until 2001 numerous concerts a. a. played with Mothers Pride and Mark Foggo. In the same year studio recordings are started, but not finished because of the departure of bassist Jan.

In April 2002 Flo started as a bass player and there were concerts all over Germany again. on CD and LP The "Alien Networks" studio produced the debut album once Ska and back was released in 2004 by Mad Butcher Records. Numerous concerts with bands such as No Respect , Scrapy and Normahl followed .

In 2005 the band ran into financial difficulties due to a tour bus accident. A new rehearsal room also had to be found, which caused additional difficulties. Bassist Flo switched to Gunslinger and was replaced by Tim.

In 2005 a live CD was recorded in the Hamburg White Noise Studio, but it was not released. In 2007 the new album Am Arsch die Räuber was released . Shortly thereafter, Tim left the band and was replaced by Kai, who had already been part of the first Skatoons tour at the end of 2006 as a temporary bass player.

The record High Noon at Hansaplatz was released in 2010, accompanied by 2 release concerts in the Markthalle Hamburg

After more than 16 years, the band announced their first creative break and gave their last concert in the Markthalle Hamburg in March 2016 under the motto “For the first time, the last”.
