The Skilift Col (English for Skiliftsattel ) is a mountain saddle in the West Antarctic Marie-Byrd-Land . In the Queen Maud Mountains, it lies between the Griffith and Howe Glaciers on the west side of the Watson Escarpment . It is a shortcut on the way to Mount Meeks , which towers 3 km to the northeast .
Scientists from a 1969-1970 campaign for the New Zealand Geological Survey Antarctic Expedition named it after the fact that some of them used a snowmobile as a ski lift .
