Skjold (ship)
The Skjold (or Skiold) was a Danish full ship and was built in Sønderborg in 1839 especially for the transport of emigrants . She had a size of 460 tons. Its owner was C. Petersen from Sønderborg. Captain Hans Christian Claussen led the ship on its great voyages to Adelaide in 1841 and Nelson (New Zealand) in 1844.

- Altona to Port Adelaide - July 3, 1841 to October 28, 1841 with Prussian emigrants and pastor Gotthard Fritzsche , who later settled near Adelaide and founded Lobethal in the Adelaide Hills and Bethanien in the Barossa Valley . 41 of the original 214 passengers did not survive the crossing.
