Slaughterday is a German death metal band from Leer , which was founded in 2010.

history

The band was founded in 2010 by the guitarist and bassist Jens Finger (ex- Obscenity ) and the drummer and singer Bernd Reiners. In December 2012, the band recorded their first demo at Soundlodge Studios , which was released by FDA Rekotz under the name Cosmic Horror . Members of Ingurgitating Oblivion were brought in live : Uli Kreienbrink took over the vocals, while Ingo Neugebauer took over the second guitar and Christian Pfeil took over the bass. The debut album Nightmare Vortex followed in 2013 .

On their Facebook profile, the band lists groups like Autopsy , Asphyx , Entombed and Massacre as their influences. In the rock-hard interview, Bernd Reiners named HP Lovecraft as the inspiration for his lyrics. According to Stephan Möller from metal.de, the band plays classic Death Metal on Nightmare Vortex , comparable to their label colleagues Deserted Fear and Chapel of Disease , although Slaughterday puts more emphasis on melodic lead guitars. In addition, slight influences from Doom Metal can also be heard in songs like Cult of the Dreaming Dead .
