The Slithallet ( Norwegian for slippery slope ) is an icy steep slope in Queen Maud Land, East Antarctica . It is located between the Mayr range and the Risemedet mountain in Gjelsvikfjella .
The first aerial photographs of the steep slope were taken during the German Antarctic Expedition in 1938/39 under the direction of polar explorer Alfred Ritscher . Norwegian cartographers, who also named it, carried out a mapping on the basis of aerial photographs and measurements of the Norwegian-British-Swedish Antarctic Expedition (1949–1952).
