Sloth was an English doom metal band from London that was formed in 1999 and split up around 2000.

history

The band was formed in August 1999 from the breakup of the two doom metal bands Godzilla and Mourn. The group consisted of singer Gaz Ricketts, guitarist Roland Scriver, bassist Will Palmer and drummer Vince Scriver. After their first concert in September as the opening act for Spirit Caravan at the Marquee Club , the group reached a contract with Rise Above Records . After a demo in January 2000, the band went to Backstage Studios in the middle of the year . As a producer here was Dave Change operates, which already recorded music for Orange Goblin had produced. The album was released in 2000 under the name The Voice of God . The Japanese version of the album included The Sadist as a bonus song. The release of a second album was planned for 2004, but this never happened.

According to Max H. from doomedreview.blogspot.de, the band mostly play slowly played Doom Metal with booming, down-tuned guitars. Occasionally the pace would suddenly increase.
