Slotoxin (synonymous with potassium channel toxin alpha-KTx 1.11 ) is a neurotoxin from the scorpion Centruroides noxius .

properties

Slotoxin is a peptide and a scorpion toxin from the venom of Centruroides noxius , as is Noxiustoxin . It binds to calcium-controlled potassium channels and blocks KCa1.1 / KCNMA1 reversibly and KCNMA1 and KCNMB1 and, to a lesser extent, KCNMA1 and KCNMB4 , but not dSlo , Kv1.1 / KCNA1 , Kv11.1 / KCNH2 / KCNJ12.2 , Kir2.2 , Shaker-IR , SK1 / KCNN1 , SK2 / KCNN2 and SK3 / KCNN3 . Slotoxin is structurally related to charybdotoxin (αKTx1 family).
