The slw Social Services of the Capuchins (slw) is a foundation of the Austrian Capuchin Order . The chairman of the governing body is Austria's highest Capuchin .

history

In 1889 the German Capuchin Father Cyprian Fröhlich founded the Seraphische Liebeswerk (SLW) in Ehrenbreitstein near Koblenz as an aid organization for children in need. This happened as a reaction to the suggestion of Babette Hartmann, member of the Third Franciscan Order and with the support of the world priest Matthäus Müller. The SLW has also been present in Tyrol since 1908. Since September 2012 the organization in Tyrol has been called slw Social Services of the Capuchins. The association slw social services of the Capuchins is the sole shareholder and sponsor of slw Soziale Dienst GmbH and sponsor of the slw school association.

The slw comprises the following facilities in Tyrol:

  • slw youth welfare in Fügen , Fiecht , Strass and Kaltenbach and Münster : Socio-educational residential communities for young people who do not live at home, socio-educational day care, elementary school and new middle school
  • slw kindergarten in Innsbruck
  • slw Innsbruck: fully supervised and accompanied living and mobile support in residential groups and decentralized shared apartments as well as day structure (workshops) for adults with disabilities
  • slw Elisabethinum in Axams : including crèche and kindergarten, school with inclusion class, boarding school, vocational preparation and therapy offers for young people with and without disabilities
