Smart Akraka

Smart Akraka (born April 13, 1934 in Lagos , † June 8, 2016 in Lagos) was a Nigerian sprinter .

In 1958 he won silver at the British Empire and Commonwealth Games in Cardiff with the Nigerian 4-by-110-yard relay. About 100 yards and 220 yards he was eliminated in the quarterfinals.

At the Olympic Games in Rome in 1960 he reached the semi-finals in the 4 x 100 meter relay .

He set his personal best over 100 m of 10.4 s in 1961.

His daughter is the Swedish middle distance runner Maria Akraka .
