The Smellie Peak is an isolated, three-sided and about 695 m high mountain on the West Antarctic James Ross Island . It rises 2 km northeast of Stickle Ridge and 2.8 km south of the San José Pass . Its northern flank contains a distinctive deep red pyroclastic rock unit.
The UK Antarctic Place-Names Committee named it in 2006 after John Laidlaw Smellie (* 1953), longtime geologist of the British Antarctic Survey .
