Smendes III.

Smendes III. (also Nesibanebdjedet III. ) was a son of Osorkon I and around 884 to 874 BC. Chr. 22 Dynasty ( Third Intermediate Period ) High Priest of Amun in Thebes and followed his brother Iuwelot in this office.

Smendes III. is only known from Nilstands brands from Karnak , which date to the 8th, 13th and 14th year of his brother Takelot I's reign . The assignment of a writing palette that is located in New York is uncertain. Georges Posener assigns this to Smendes II .
