Geography and history
Snavlunda is located in central Sweden in the south of Örebro County, about nine kilometers north of Askersund , the capital of the municipality of the same name.
In the area of the village there are toes and stone settings from the Iron Age .
Snavlunda was the seat of its own pastorate until 1962 , which was split up in 1595, in which the Lerbäck pastorate was split off. In this, the pastorate based in Snavlunda was reasserted.
In the course of the municipal reform of 1862 with the introduction of the first Swedish municipal code, Snavlunda was assigned to the municipality of Lerbäck . This was reformed in the course of the modernization of the municipal administrative structure between 1952 and 1971 and ultimately dissolved with the transition to the municipality of Askersund.
