Åmmeberg is a village ( Tatort ) in the Swedish province of Örebro County .
Åmmeberg is five kilometers east of the main town of Askersund and is connected to it via the Länsväg T 590 . Not far away is Riksväg 50 and Godsstråket genom Bergslagen , whose next train station, Mariedamm, is no longer used for passenger traffic.
Åmmeberg is located at the northern end of Lake Vättersee , the second largest lake in Sweden.
The Belgian company Vieille Montagne operated a zinc mine nearby . There was also a separate railway line, the Åmmebergs järnväg .
