The Snezhnyy Bay ( English ; Russian Залив Снежный Saliw Sneschny , German 'Snow-covered Bay' ) is a branched bay with a narrow entrance on the Ingrid Christensen coast of the East Antarctic Princess Elisabeth Land . It is located in the northern part of the Vestfold Mountains .
Aerial photographs were taken during the US Operation Highjump (1946–1947) and by scientists on a Soviet Antarctic expedition in 1956, which they also named, and during campaigns of the Australian National Antarctic Research Expeditions in 1957 and 1958. The Antarctic Names Committee of Australia transferred the Russian name in 1973 in a transcribed partial translation into English.
