After its foundation in the Middle Ages , Soča was first owned by the Patriarchs of Aquileia for a long time , then by the Republic of Venice and finally, after a takeover in 1509, the Habsburgs .
In the middle of the village there is also a church , which was built in 1718 and is dedicated to Saint Joseph .
Behind it there is also a cemetery, where, among other things, the soldiers who died on the Isonzo front in World War I are buried. The cemetery belonged to a military hospital that was located by the church during the war and the building of which is still there.
In Soča there are also some dilapidated houses that testify to the Friuli earthquake in May 1976.
