The Soʻx ( Kyrgyz and Russian Сох Soch ) is a river in Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan ( Central Asia ).
The Soʻx rises in Kyrgyzstan on the northern flank of the Alai Mountains . From there it flows mainly in a northerly direction. It flows through the Uzbek exclave of the same name Soʻx . Finally it reaches the Fergana Valley in Uzbekistan, where it forms an alluvial cone , which is cut through by irrigation channels.
The Soʻx has a length of 124 km. It drains an area of 3510 km². The river is fed by the meltwater from the glaciers and the snowmelt . Between June and September it leads to high water . The mean discharge near the Kischlak Sarykonda 44 km above the mouth is 42.1 m³ / s. The river water is used for irrigation, with the result that the Soʻx is no longer to be seen as the left tributary of the Syr Darja.
