Sofijiwska Borschtschahiwka ( Ukrainian Софіївська Борщагівка ; Russian Софиевская Борщаговка Sofijewskaja Borschtschagowka ) is a village in the Ukrainian Oblast of Kiev with about 6500 inhabitants (2006).
The name of the village comes from the monastery of St. Sophia Cathedral , to which the village, founded in 1578, belonged.
geography
The village is located in the Kiev-Svyatoshyn district on the P-04 regional road and is the only village in the Sofijiwska Borschtschahiwka district council . In the east, the town borders on Kiev , the center of which is about 15 km to the west. In the north the village is on Petropavlivska Borschtschahiwka and in the south the village borders on the town of Vysneve .
