Sofja Gyulbadamova

Sofja Gülbadamova ( Russian Софья Гюльбадамова , French: Sofja Gulbadamova ; * 1981 in Moscow ) is a Russian pianist .

Life

Gülbadamova received her initial musical training at the age of five at the Gnessin Institute in Moscow in Michail Chochlow's class and then with James Tocco at the Lübeck University of Music . She then studied in Paris with Jacques Rouvier ( Paris Conservatory ) and Guigla Katsarava at the École Normale de Musique de Paris , where she completed her concert exam. Sofja Gülbadamova has won a number of international piano competitions, including the Concours international pour piano in Aix-en-Provence in 2008 and the 6th international Francois Poulenc piano competition in Paris. In 2010 she won the Grand Prix at the international Rosario Marciano piano competition in Vienna and the 2nd prize at the international piano competition "André Dumortier" in Belgium.

Since 1992 Gülbadamova has given international concerts with piano recitals, chamber music and orchestral appearances in European countries, in Russia, South America and in the USA. She recorded several CDs by the end of 2015, including works by Brahms, Dohnányi, Schubert and Prokofiev's 3rd Piano Concerto . She also interprets lesser-known works for piano, including piano concertos by Antonín Dvořák and Clara Schumann, as well as pieces by Ernst von Dohnányi , whose understanding of the work the pianist advocates in interviews and verbal explanations at her concerts.
