Solly Smith

Solly Smith (* 6. March 1871 in Los Angeles , California , USA ; † 28. August 1933 ) was an American boxer in the featherweight .

On July 7, 1888 Smith made his professional debut against Canadian Billy Smith with a technical knockout victory in the 7th round. His second fight ended in a draw and his third in a "no contest".

On October 4th he fought against George Dixon for the universal world title and defeated him over 20 rounds by unanimous decision. On September 26, 1898, he lost this belt to Dave Sullivan by TKo in round 5 in a 25-round fight.
