At the 2008 Summer Paralympics in Beijing , medals were awarded in a total of four rowing competitions. The decisions were made on September 11, 2008 in the Shunyi Olympic Rowing and Canoeing Park , where the Olympic competitions were also held. For the first time ever , rowing competitions were added to the schedule at the Summer Paralympics .

Classes

Rowing for the disabled is divided into three classes:

• LTA, for rowers with impaired vision, light amputations and one-sided paralysis (mixed fours).
• TA, for rowers with amputations, spinal cord injuries or cerebral paretics (mixed twos).
• A, for rowers with a lack of trunk stability (men and women single).

Results

A total of 96 athletes took part in the Paralympic rowing competitions, 48 ​​of them men and 48 women.
