At the 2008 Summer Paralympics in Beijing medals were in two competitions in wheelchair basketball , both also forgive one for men and one for women. The decisions were made between September 7th and September 16th, 2008 in the National Indoor Stadium and in the University of Science and Technology . Two events particularly stood out in these games. For one thing, the German women's team took second place. On the other hand, in a sample taken by Ahmet Coşkun , which was taken before the Paralympics, the active ingredient finasteride was detected, which was contained in the player's hair restorer and can prevent the detection of performance-enhancing doping agents.
Classification
In each game two teams with five field players and seven substitutes each play. Each player has a certain number of points that express their freedom of movement in the wheelchair and thus the degree of their disability. The classification in 0.5 large steps ranges from 1 (severely restricted trunk activity) to 4.5 (complete freedom of movement). The total number of points of all five players on a team on the field must not exceed 14 points. Four quarters of 10 minutes each are played.
