Song Seon-ho (born January 24, 1966 ) is a former South Korean football player and current coach . During his playing career he played exclusively for the Yukong Elephants . He is currently under contract as a coach at Bucheon FC 1995 .

Career as a player

education

Seon-ho started his education at Yongdungpo Technical High School in Seoul . He then went to Incheon University from 1983 to 1987 , where he completed his training. He then went to the K League to Yukong Elephants .

Player career

Seon-ho stayed with the Yukong Elephants until the end of his career. During his time with the Yukong Elephants, he ran a total of 146 times and scored four goals. His greatest success was the championship in 1989 . At the end of 1996, at the age of 30, he ended his playing career and left the club.

Career as a coach

Various stations and tasks (1997-2013)

After his active playing career, he hired in 1997 as an assistant coach at his old Yongdungpo Technical High School. In 2001 he left his old school and went to Moonil High School to work as an assistant coach. In mid-2001 he left Moonil High School and went to Samick Musical FC , an amateur club. There he acted as a trainer. At the end of 2001, his former club announced that they had signed him as a scout. He held this position until 2008. In mid-2008 he then took over the 2nd team from the meanwhile renamed club Jeju United . At the end of 2009 he gave up his position as coach of the 2nd team and was again scout for the 1st team. In mid-2013 he surprisingly left his club and went to Gwangmyeong Technical High School , where he took on the post of assistant coach. At the end of 2013, Bucheon FC offered him the post of assistant coach in 1995 , which he also accepted and took over the post of assistant coach from 2014.

Bucheon FC 1995 period (2014-2016)

In mid-2015 the coach, Choi Jin-han, was dismissed as a coach due to poor sporting results and Seon-ho took over the coaching position on an interim basis. Under Seon-ho, the club stabilized again and then fought its way back to 5th place. Towards the end of the season he was promoted to coach. In October 2016, he had to give up his position for a short time due to AFC Champions League regulations. The background was that his team in the Korean FA Cup advanced to the semifinals and, in the event that the team had won the semifinals against FC Seoul , would have been in the final and would have qualified for the AFC Champions League by reaching the final which, however, would have needed a class P coaching license, which he did not hold. Jeong Kab-seok took over for him on an interim basis. After the club lost 1-0 to FC Seoul, the club could no longer qualify for the AFC Champions League, which is why he got the post of coach again. With Bucheon he failed in the subsequent play-off games against Gangwon FC with 0: 1. For the 2017 season, he moved from Bucheon FC to Asan Mugunghwa FC in 1995 , where he took over the coaching position.

Present (since 2017)

With the team from Asan Mugunghwa FC, however, he could not achieve the goals set. Instead of direct promotion, the club ended the season in third place. In the subsequent play-off games he was able to beat Seongnam FC with his team , but in the play-off final he failed to Busan IPark . At the end of the season he was then dismissed as a coach. After his release, he remained without a club until October 31, before his former employer Bucheon FC made a contract offer in 1995, which he accepted. He then took over the team from Bucheon FC again shortly before the end of the season.
