Sonia Bisset
Sonia Bisset (born April 1, 1971 in Bayamo ) is a former Cuban javelin thrower .
She achieved the most significant success of her career by winning the bronze medal at the 2001 World Athletics Championships in Edmonton . With a width of 64.69 m, she only had to admit defeat to her compatriot Osleidys Menéndez (69.53 m) and Mirela Maniani from Greece (65.78 m).
Bisset achieved other notable results as the winner of the Central American and Caribbean Championships in 1995 and 1998, the Ibero-American Championships and the IAAF Grand Prix Finals in 2000. She also won silver medals at the 1997 Universiade , the 2006 World Cup in Athletics and the 2007 Pan American Games . At the Olympic Games in 2000 and 2004 , she was fifth. At World Athletics Championships she always reached the finals between 1997 and 2007.
Sonia Bisset is 1.71 m tall and had a competition weight of 69 kg.
