Sonic & Sega All-Stars Racing is a fun Racer - video game , which by Sumo Digital developed and 2010 on the game consoles of the seventh generation and for Windows was released. It is similar to Mario Kart Wii . All versions have a multiplayer mode, at the console for up to four players, online for up to eight. With Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed a successor appeared in 2012.

Course of the game

You can drive individual races and Grand Prix tournaments. There is also a mission mode, where each character is given special tasks, the fulfillment of which is rated AAA, AA, A, B, C, D and E.

Characters

There are 19 different characters from the Sega and Sonic Team video games that can be controlled. At the beginning only 8 characters are available. Above all, there are 7 characters from the Sonic-the-Hedgehog games, two of which have to be unlocked. The Sonic the Hedgehog characters are Sonic the Hedgehog, Miles "Tails" Prower , Knuckles the Echidna, Amy Rose, Dr. Eggman, Big the Cat and Shadow the Hedgehog. Other games include Amigo from Samba de Amigo, Billy Hatcher from Billy Hatcher and the Giant Egg, Aiai from Super Monkey Ball and Alex Kidd. On the Wii you can also control your own Mii, which you have to unlock first.

Gameplay

The gameplay is pretty similar to that of Mario Kart Wii and Mario Kart DS. The items that can be found on the track have similar functions as the Mario Kart items. Each character also has their own vehicle; Sonic, for example, a racing car, Dr. Eggman a monster truck and Shadow a motorcycle. In addition, the turbo can be charged three times when drifting, the longer you drift. There is also a special item for each character, the so-called All-Star, the use of which makes temporarily increased speed, invulnerability and, for many, an additional special attack available. As an All-Star, Sonic receives the 7 Chaos Emeralds, which when used he transforms into Super Sonic and can continuously generate a sonic boom, which accelerates him again and paralyzes all opponents in the vicinity. On the other hand, Dr. Eggman turn his monster truck into a flying device and drop missiles.
