Sonja Gehrig
Sonja Gehrig (born February 11, 1970 ) is a Swiss politician ( Green Liberals ). She is a member of the Zurich Cantonal Council .
biography
During her studies at the University of Zurich , she made contributions to the National Research Program NRP 31 on climate change and natural disasters. In 1997 she graduated as a geographer / environmental scientist.
From 1997 to 2009 she worked for the environmental and sustainability consultancy Infras, and from 2001 to 2009 also for Inrate-Sustainable Investment Solutions, Zurich. She contributed to the National Research Program NRP48 "Landscapes and habitats in the Alps". She has been working for the City of Zurich since 2012 . There she is project manager in the environmental policy department, where she is responsible, among other things, for sustainable procurement for the city of Zurich and cooperation management in environmental and health protection. Until 2017, she also dealt with the topic of sustainable nutrition at the City of Zurich.
Gehrig is the founder and president of "Aufgetischt instead Dump", an organization that is against the food waste (food waste) is used. Since 2014 she has been on the board of « Pro Velo » Canton Zurich, an interest group for better cycling infrastructures. Since 2017 she has been on the board of "IGÖB - Interest Group for Sustainable Public Procurement, Switzerland", since 2018 as Co-President.
Gehrig lives in Urdorf (ZH), is married and has 3 children.
politics
Gehrig has been involved with the Green Liberal Party since 2006. Since 2012 she has been President or Co-President of the Green Liberal District Dietikon , which she initiated in 2009. She has been a member of the board of the cantonal party since 2014.
She has been a member of the Zurich Cantonal Council (parliament) since 2015, where she has also been a member of the State and Municipal Commission since 2015. There she campaigned against food waste , for the declaration of a “ climate emergency ”, in favor of better and safer bicycle infrastructure as well as for internships for asylum seekers and for the voting age 16 on request.
