services

Video Unlimited

Video Unlimited allowed users to buy or rent videos or films. The purchases were made online through the Sony Entertainment Network Store. The purchased content could be used on the PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4 and the PlayStation Vita , as well as on many Sony Blu-ray Disc devices and Bravia TVs, or on the Xperia smartphone and tablet app. The service provided customers with an easy way to discover new films and TV series. With the wide range of options, you could choose between new films or classic films, or watch a TV series that was supported by the compatible Video Unlimited devices. Video Unlimited was later renamed PlayStation Video .

Music Unlimited

Music Unlimited was a cloud-based music service that was last available in 19 countries. According to Sony, the music catalog contains 25 million songs. There were two subscription options: Access, which allowed you to listen to music on the Mac, PC, Playstation 4 or Playstation 3; and Premium, which added availability on mobile devices and Walkman players as well as Blueray players and BRAVIA TVs. According to Sony, over 30 million songs were recently available for mobile devices and Playstation users. Like any other regular music streaming service, Music Unlimited allowed you to create playlists, find new songs, and listen to songs recommended for you. A special feature that made Music Unlimited stand out is the ability to listen to the music on the PlayStation 4 during a game. Sony Entertainment Network offered a 30-day trial for new customers. The service offered two subscriptions. A premium subscription, which then cost $ 12.99 / month, and an Access subscription, which then cost $ 7.99 / month. Both subscriptions offer different options. The premium subscription allowed access to every function that allowed access on every supported device, whereas the access subscription only supported the PS4, PS3 and PC or Mac. Although the service provides high quality music through an internet connection, offline playback has been reported to be of not as good quality. This service was also renamed from Music Unlimited to PlayStation Music .

PlayStation Store

The PlayStation Store, which is available in 51 countries worldwide, is a service created by Sony for PlayStation users. Users can purchase games and content for their PlayStation 3, Playstation, PC, tablet and smartphones. Pre-orders are also possible via the PlayStation Store. The PlayStation Store is a popular way to purchase downloadable content (DLC) and game add-ons for your current and previously purchased game. The PlayStation Store also makes it possible for players to purchase games for a PlayStation console that has already been released. "Cross-Buy" allows owners of a PlayStation to purchase games and then play them on their current console and the possibility of playing them on the PS3, PS4 and PS Vita.
