The Lipanský potok is a left tributary of the Vltava in the Czech Republic . The stream flows at the northern foot of the Hřebeny ( Brdykamm ) in the former river bed of the Berounka .

course

The Lipanský potok rises in the Kazín settlement on the outskirts of Prague in the Berounka river valley . On its northeastern headwaters, the stream flows north of the Cukrák (411 m nm) past Lipany, Lipence and Pod Kyjovem. At Žabovřesky, the Lipanský potok takes a northerly direction and flows past Peluněk over the Praha-Zbraslav golf course to Buda. There the brook at the Lipence Wholesale Market ( Velkotržnice Lipence ) turns back to the northeast and flows into the Krňák Nature Reserve . At the exit Praha-Zbraslav-sever, the state road I / 4 crosses the stream. Then the Lipanský potok flows north of the Havlín ( St. Gallus Mountain ) and the Zbraslav Castle for a long kilometer through the dammed Berounka old water Krňov. South of exit 10 Strakonická from expressway R 1 , state road II / 101/102 bridges the stream. The lower course of the Lipanský potok first leads through two ponds in the backwater of the Berounka into the Vltava valley, after which the stream is directed south into a 400-meter-long nameless pond on the Vltava. After 8.6 kilometers, the Lipanský potok joins the Vltava east of Zbraslav .

history

The Lipanský potok was originally the lower reaches of the Miesa . The meandering course of the river from Radotín over the loop Šárovo kolo to Königsaal has been documented since the 12th century . After that, the river formed further arms. One of them was created on January 16, 1797 during an ice flood and led from Radotín to the northeast to Modřany. During the flood of 1829, this arm was washed away to form the new main arm of the river. Friedrich Kraft zu Oettingen-Wallerstein feared further breakthroughs and floods in his country; therefore he had the new main river bed canalized with state support in the same year. During the flood of 1872, the old Berounka river bed between Buda, Peluněk, Žabovřesky and Zbraslav was completely thrown off. The new Lipanský potok stream was formed in it.

Krňák nature reserve

The Krňák nature reserve has existed since September 1st, 1988 and covers an area of 26.56 hectares. This includes the Lipanský potok from Buda downstream with the old water Krňov and several ponds, as well as a bank strip to the left of the Vltava from Strnady downstream via Záběhlice and Zbraslav to Radotínský most.
