Sony Ericsson P1i
The Sony Ericsson P1i is a UMTS - smartphone of the Swedish-Japanese mobile manufacturer Sony Ericsson . It came onto the market in the third quarter of 2007 as the successor to the P990 and is therefore also based on the Symbian OS 9.1 operating system and the UIQ 3 user interface .
Prior to the official announcement, the P1 was known by the code name Elena .
Compared to its predecessor, the P1 does not have a numeric keypad cover (flip), so the display diagonal had to be reduced by 0.5 centimeters. In addition, the RAM of the P1 has been doubled to 128 MB . The smartphone has WLAN, Bluetooth 2.0 (with A2DP ) and an infrared interface as well as GPRS and UMTS for wireless data transmission. As with the Sony Ericsson M600 , the P1 has a combined number / QWERTY keyboard, with two letters and sometimes a number as well as special characters sharing the key, and the switch is made using the ALT key. The font can be entered by hand or with the help of the included stylus via the touchscreen, as well as via the keyboard or via an on-screen keyboard. You can navigate in the menus either using the 3-way wheel (JogDial) on the left-hand side and the back button below, or using the touchscreen.
On the lower edge of the device there is a two-color LED which signals important messages (e.g. flashing green: missed call, SMS, e-mail, appointment or voicemail, glowing green: battery is being charged, or glowing red: battery is being charged while the mobile phone is switched off).
The lens of the 3.2 megapixel camera with auto focus and LED flash is located on the back of the device, and another camera with QVGA resolution for video telephony is located on the front .
