Sophie Krauel
Sophie Krauel (born March 2, 1985 in Jena ) is a German long jumper .
Krauel was fourth at the 2002 Junior World Championships in Kingston. At the European Junior Championships in Tampere in 2003, she won gold twice, in the long jump and in the 100-meter hurdles . In 2004 Krauel became German indoor champion and took part in the indoor world championships in Budapest. In the open-air season she was Vice-Junior World Champion in Grosseto . Because of a shin injury, she was unable to compete from 2005 to 2007. In 2008, Krauel was also the free German champion for the first time and was able to defend the title in Ulm a year later when she increased her personal best to 6.70 meters.
Sophie Krauel started for TuS Jena and LC Jena .
