Sophie Natuschke

Sophie Natuschke ( Upper Sorbian Sofija Natuškec ; * 1950 in Bautzen ) is a German graphic artist, painter and sculptor of Sorbian origin.

From 1970 to 1975 Natuschke studied graphics at the Berlin-Weissensee School of Art . After that she was a permanent member of the Sorbian Visual Artists Working Group. In 1976/77 she was studying in Gdansk and has been working as a freelance graphic designer, illustrator and painter since 1979. After German reunification , she stayed in Nepal in 1997/98 and in Armenia in 2007, where she was able to gain new impulses for her own work by studying the local folk art there.

Natuschke became known for her illustrations, especially for the books by Jurij Brězan . She lives and works in Güstebieser Loose / Oderbruch.
