Sora Yachi ( Japanese 谷地 宙 , born May 4, 2000 in Shiwa , Iwate Prefecture ) is a Japanese Nordic combined athlete .

Career

Sora Yachi started at an international level for the first time at an FIS race on March 4, 2017 in Sapporo , where he finished 22nd.

At the Nordic Junior World Ski Championships 2019 in Lahti , he was used in the team competition in the Japanese team, in which he took sixth place with Sakutaro Kobayashi , Daimatsu Takehana and Kodai Kimura . A year later , Yachi started in Oberwiesenthal in the individual competition and took 24th place there.

On September 7th and 8th, 2019 Yachi debuted in Planica in the Grand Prix ; he finished 22nd and 39th and thus reached the final once and thus directly first Grand Prix points. On January 17th and 18th, 2020, Yachi made his debut in Klingenthal in the Continental Cup , where he reached the 36th and 23rd place. Since then there have been further Continental Cup participations; his best placement so far (as of March 2020) was a 19th place a week later in Rena .
