Javier Cook

Javier Cook (* 1961 in Madrid ) is a German football coach .

Life

Cook's career as a coach in American football began in 1987 when he took over the management of the second men's team of the Berlin Adler . He also carried out this task in 1988. From 1989 to 1991 he was the head coach of the Berlin Rebels . He led the capital city in 1991 to win the championship title in the 2nd division north. Cook returned to the Berlin Adlers and was a member of the coaching staff of the Bundesliga team in the capital from 1992: In 1992 he was attack coordinator there, and then from 1993 to 1995 he was responsible for coordinating defense work. In 1996 he returned to the office of attack coordinator.

Cook left Berlin and looked after the Hildesheim Invaders in 1997 and 1998 as head coach in the second division. He led the Lower Saxony in 1997 to third and 1998 to second place in the northern relay. In 1999, he was visiting the United States as a visiting coach with the college team at Syracuse University . In 2001 he worked again for the Berlin Adler, where he again took on the task of attack coordinator.

The 2003 season was Cook's first as head coach of the Dresden Monarchs in the top German division, the GFL . In 2004, the Saxons advanced to the GFL semi-finals under his leadership. For the 2005 season, Cook moved to the Bergamo Lions in Italy , where he initially worked as a defense coordinator, then in 2006 as head coach. In 2005 he was in the Eurobowl with Bergamo , but lost to Vienna there. In both years (2005 and 2006) he stayed at Magnolia High School in the US state of California when the game was inactive in Italy and was part of the coaching staff of the local football school team. In 2007 Cook was a consultant to the Munich Cowboys and worked in this role, as he did in Berlin in 1995 and in Bergamo in 2005, with Munich's then head coach John Rosenberg .

In January 2008, Cook took up the post of head coach of the Braunschweig Lions . In the game year 2008 he led the Lower Saxony to win the German championship title, in the 2009 season he had to be content with the Braunschweig team with the last table rank of the GFL northern relay.

In 2010 Cook returned to work for the Berlin Rebels, initially coordinating the defense, in 2014 the attack, and then in 2015 as head coach. After the end of the 2015 season, he left the team for professional reasons.
