Takehana made his international debut in February 2016 at the Youth Cup competitions in Trondheim , where he presented himself well in his age group with ranks 5 and 6. Until his debut in the Continental Cup in Klingenthal in January 2019 , he only took part in individual international competitions. He won his first points in the Continental Cup a week later in Ruka with thirteenth place. At the Nordic Junior World Ski Championships 2019 in Lahti , he finished 13th in both the Gundersen singles and the sprint and was also sixth with the team. At the mass start on the final Continental Cup weekend of the season, he reached the top 10 for the first time with tenth place.
At the end of the Grand Prix 2019 in Planica , Takehana started at the highest level for the first time. After collecting points on both days, he finally finished 56th in the overall standings. In winter it did not start in the Continental Cup until the end of February 2020 . Takehana reached the podium in the Continental Cup for the first time when he and Anju Nakamura , Ayane Miyazaki and Kodai Kimura finished the first mixed team competition in Eisenerz in third place behind Norway and Austria. At the Nordic Junior Ski World Championships 2020 in Oberwiesenthal a few days later, Takehana went on the trail in second place , but was disqualified due to an early start. Together with Ayane Miyazaki, Anju Nakamura and Kodai Kimura, he won the bronze medal with the mixed team.
After joining the Tschuiya ski team in April 2020, Takehana switched to special jumping .
