Sornßiger Berg, without a name, map from 1821/1822

The Sornßiger Berg represents the highest summit of the mountain range north of the eastern flank of the Czornebohzuges, to which the two eastern elevations Richtersberg and Schafberg belong. From the Hochstein , 860 meters south , the Sornßiger Berg is crossed by a below 430 m above sea level. NN reaching sink separately.

The technically difficult to use two-mica granodiorite represents the bedrock of the Sornßiger Mountain, which predominates in the eastern part of the mountain range from Czorneboh . Quarries do not occur due to the poor usability of the rock. Some low rocky cliffs can be found on the summit, while the slopes are locally heavily sprinkled with blocks.

The old name Kuppritzer Berg arose because the forest on the summit used to belong to the Kuppritz manor .

flora

Almost all of the spruce trees form the main tree species in the Sornßiger Berg forest. Occasionally they are interspersed with beeches. The original pedunculate oak and birch forest with bilberry ( Vaccinium myrtillus ) and meadow quail wheat ( Melampyrum pratense ) is noticeable in small areas .
