The Sorpesee is a passenger ship on the Sorpesee and is used as a day excursion ship in regular services and for themed trips. The ship is operated by the Sorpesee passenger shipping company. It is approved for a maximum of 300 people. The ship was named after the Sorpesee , the reservoir in the Hochsauerlandkreis in North Rhine-Westphalia on which it is in service. The company uses two pier on the lake in Sundern , the Sorpedamm pier and the Amecke pier. Both jetties allow barrier-free access to and on the ship.

history

The ship was built under construction number 170 in 2005 at the Lux shipyard in Mondorf am Rhein . The first part of the journey was made by the 120-ton passenger ship from the Lux shipyard on its own keel to the port of Emmerich on the Rhine . From here, the onward transport to Sorpesee had to be moved to the road. 180 kilometers overland had to be covered. Due to the height of over 5 meters, the transport team had no choice but to transport the ship in two parts. The upper deck was separated from the ship as intended and transported on an extendable semi-trailer . In a tandem lift, the approximately 100-ton hull was then loaded onto the 13-axle heavy-duty combination provided for it. Due to the width and weight, a 2 × 4-axle heavy-duty combination was used at the front, coupled in parallel side by side. After a night drive, the transport reached its destination at the reservoir. At the Sorpesee the two parts of the passenger ship were set down, the upper deck was rebuilt and the ship was completed and watered down to the furniture.

The ship

The ship is 36.00 meters long and 7.60 meters wide. The average draft is 90 centimeters. The Sorpesee is driven by a Deutz AG engine via a Schottel rudder propeller . A generator from Deutz with 77 KW is available for the energy supply. The ship is approved for 300 passengers. It has a barrier-free bow ramp for passengers to get on and off .
